Zambian striker set to head to Premier League in what he called dream move
Red Bull Salzburg star Patson Daka has confirmed he is set to join Leicester City after weeks of rumors surrounding his club’s future.
Daka has been linked with Tottenham and Liverpool in recent weeks but Leicester won the race for his signing after persuading the Zambian they could give him more first-team chances.
Salzburg are expected to receive costs of around € 30million (£ 26million / $ 36million) for Daka, who is now set to embark on what he has called a dream move.
What was said?
“I will go to England and move to Leicester City,” said the striker Crowned .
“I had a great time here, Salzburg has become my second home,” he added. “I will always be happy to come back here, but the Premier League has always been my big dream.”
The emergence of Daka in Austria
The 22-year-old striker has proven to be one of Europe’s most dynamic young forwards, scoring 27 goals in 28 appearances as Salzburg won their fifth straight Austrian Bundesliga title last season.
Daka has been at Salzburg since joining the club in 2017, first proving himself with the club’s youth teams.
He then made his senior debut in August 2019, since scoring 68 goals for the club.
Daka is now set to become the latest Salzburg starlet to make the leap to a bigger league, following Erling Haaland, Sadio Mane and Takumi Minamino.
