JayDaYoungan’s relative, Kenyatta Scott Sr, was taken to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition, cops said.
Bogalusa police confirmed earlier in the evening that two separate shootings had taken place and that they were investigating a possible connection between the incidents.
The first happened just before 6 p.m. outside a house on Superior Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that one victim had been taken to a nearby hospital while another had been seriously injured at the scene.
While cops responded to the first scene and transported the seriously injured victim to hospital, the second shooting was reported on Marshall Richardson Road.
A vehicle was shot down, although passengers were not hit, and cops believe it may have been linked to the first shooting.
Authorities continue to investigate.
Anyone with information about any of these crimes is encouraged to contact the Detective Division at (985) 732-6238.
JayDaYoungan is best known for his singles “23 Island”, “Elimination” and “Opps”.
