“The American people deserve to know how this pandemic started, to know if the NIH funded dangerous gain-of-function research that may have caused this pandemic, and to remove from office anyone, like Dr. Fauci, who let that happen,” Paul told Fox News Digital in an email Monday.

“In these questions, I demand simple ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answers that aim to bring us closer to the truth about the origins of COVID-19,” he continued.

Paul’s questions for Fauci probed the doctor on funding the NIH research gain, starting with the to agree provide funding for “bat SARS-related coronaviruses to EcoHealth Alliance with subcontract to Wuhan Institute of Virology” (WIV).

Paul and Fauci had a heated exchange during the doctor’s last appearance before the Senate HELP committee that included personal blows between the two officials.

Paul, a fierce critic of the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, accused Fauci of playing a role in smearing doctors at Harvard, Oxford and Stanford who held positions different from his.
