R Kelly threatened to “fuck up” one of his victims before assaulting him, according to new court documents.
Charges in sex trafficking case against 54-year-old singer – real name Robert kelly – would like a recording of the incident to be admitted as proof.
According to documents filed with a federal court in Brooklyn, New York, the incident occurred in 2008.
On the tape, Kelly was reportedly heard saying, “If you lie to me, I’m going to fuck you up.”
In a second video, the I Believe I Can Fly singer is heard threatening a Florida woman known as “Jane Doe” and accusing her of stealing her Rolex watch.
“You better never… take me back or I’ll be in Florida and something will happen to you,” he said, according to the documents. ” You understand what I’m telling you ?
The record says prosecutors wanted Jane Doe to testify at Kelly’s trial, but decided not to do so after the woman “started having panic attacks and appeared to have emotional breakdown” as she listened to the records.
Kelly has denied the racketeering and other accusations accusing her of sexually assaulting women, girls and boys during her 30-year career.
On Tuesday, the judge in charge of the case said she would allow the tapes to be used as evidence in a trial that began last month.
Kelly reportedly told his victims that he had cameras and other recording devices “everywhere” in his Chicago studio and other locations.
He was also accused of record sexual encounters with other victims.
On Monday, the court heard from a witness who said he saw Kelly in a “sexual situation” with R&B singer Aaliyah around 1993 – when Aaliyah was said to have been around 13 or 14 years old.
The witness – a former backing dancer for Kelly – added that he had sex with her when she was 15.
Previously, the jury had heard that Kelly had acquired two false identity documents through an employee so he could marry Aaliyah after he started having sex with her when she was underage and thought she was pregnant.
A marriage license presented as evidence incorrectly stated Aaliyah’s age at 18 and Kelly’s at 27.
Prosecutors said Kelly wanted to use the canceled marriage later to prevent Aaliyah from testifying against him.
Kelly helped Aaliyah – by her full name Aaliyah Dana Haughton – write her 1994 debut album, Age Ain’t Nothing But A Number.
She later died at the age of 22 in 2001 in a plane crash.
