‘The Princess Bride’ star Cary Elwes has been hospitalized after being bitten by a rattlesnake in California.
“It’s not a ROUS but a rattlesnake,” Elwes posted on social media on Monday, referring to an “unusually large rodent” from the 1987 film, which starred Robin Wright. He posted an image of his hand with a black and blue swelling and finger.
“Grateful to the staff at Malibu Urgent Care, LA County Fire Department, and the staff and healthcare professionals at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center for their excellent care. I am recovering well thanks to all of these wonderful people. “
Elwes, 59, was working in his garden when he was bitten.
He is best known for his starring roles as Westley in “The Princess Bride” and Dr. Lawrence Gordon in the “Saw” film series.
