Prince Harry Says He, Meghan Markle Facing ‘Institutional Gaslighting’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle address their quick exit from the royal family.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who stepped down as senior royals in 2020, reflect on that time in a new trailer for the second half of their docuseries, Harry and Meghan. In the preview, released by Netflix on December 12, Harry admitted: “I wonder what would have happened to us if we hadn’t come out when we did…I said, ‘We have to come out from here. “”
Meanwhile, Meghan addressed safety fears for their family amid their departure from royal life. As she noted, “Everyone in the world knew where we were.”
Looking back, Harry recalls dealing with “institutional gaslighting”, as Meghan – apparently referring to the media spotlight – said she was “fed to wolves”.
Harry also claimed the royal institution treated them differently to his older brother Prince William. As he stated in the trailer, “They never wanted to tell the truth to protect us.”
Buckingham Palace has not publicly commented on the couple’s documentary claims.
