Powell and ISM manufacturing highlight the US economic calendar

Happy Friday.

The market is experiencing somewhat of a lull today, which is understandable given all the drama in November and the fact that it’s the first trading day of the month. The event everyone has been waiting for will take place at 11 a.m. ET with Powell speaking at a fireside chat at Spelman College.

I would expect his comments to be very similar to those of Daly and Williams yesterday.

Before that, we’ll get the final U.S. manufacturing PMI from S&P Global at 9:45 a.m. ET. Then at 10 a.m. ET, it’s October construction spending and November manufacturing ISM. The consensus for the latter is 47.6, but I would expect an upside surprise after the latest regional data.
