Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters has canceled upcoming concerts in Poland due to backlash over his beliefs about Russia’s war on Ukraine, which he attributes to ‘extreme nationalists’ in Ukraine .

Waters originally planned to perform two concerts at Tauron Arena in Krakow in April, but an arena official confirmed the events had been scrapped.

“Roger Waters’ manager has decided to step down… without giving a reason,” Tauron Arena Krakow’s Lukasz Pytko said on Saturday, according to Polish media.

Krakow City Council members were due to vote next week on a proposal to label Waters a persona non grata. They planned to express their “outrage” at his controversial views on Russia’s war on Ukraine.

In an open letter to Ukrainian First Lady Olena Zelenska earlier this month, Waters blamed “extremist nationalists” in Ukraine for setting the country “on the path to this disastrous war.”

The musician, who is British, has also criticized the West, the United States in particular, for supplying arms to Ukraine.
