Pensions: Olivier Dussopt confirms that raising the retirement age to 64 “is not negotiable” – Pension reform

The Minister of Labor, Olivier Dussopt, defended a “necessary” pension reform on France 2, this Wednesday morning. “What is not negotiable is the return to balance (…). If we don’t (raise the starting age to) 64, we don’t balance the system,” he said. During parliamentary discussions, however, he said he was open to “improving things”, in particular on two points: the situation of women and a possible extension of the scope of companies subject to the future “Senior Index”.
Two new mobilization days are scheduled for February 7 and 11.
