A Pennsylvania state trooper was recovering from a gunshot wound after the trooper was shot during a fight with a suspect early Friday, authorities said.
Two soldiers observed a mess on the sidewalk in front of the Franklin Mini-Mart, state police said. As the soldiers approached, a suspect ran into the store and the soldiers followed him.
According to state police, a scuffle ensued and the suspect opened fire, wounding one of the soldiers in the lower limb.

The soldier was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital. His condition has not been disclosed, but the injury is not considered life-threatening. Authorities have not released the name of the soldier, who is assigned to Beaver Barracks.
