Our opinion on the new film by Gérard Lanvin and Artus, “I love what you do” – Cinema

Rating: 4/5

Gérard Lanvin holds a resistance role in a film set during the Second World War, alongside George Clooney and Julia Roberts. The hoped-for idyllic shooting turns into a nightmare when the actor from “Boulet” meets his. Momo Zapareto, who came to restore the swimming pool of the sumptuous villa where he lives, is, alas for him, his biggest fan… with in particular “Le Fils à Jo” and “Papi Sitter” with the same star.

Gérard Lanvin is perfect in his (almost) own role, not hesitating to demonstrate self-mockery and to be grumpy, especially in the face of the intrusive Momo with his exhausting patter. The humorist Artus is very credible as a service pest. Too present, unable to be silent or to be discreet, he is certainly sympathetic but stresses his idol to death. We laugh at their interactions, reminiscent of the mismatched duos imagined by Francis Veber in the 80s and 90s. The script is certainly not on the same level as his, but the situations and dialogues, sometimes downright hilarious, will trigger beautiful bursts of frank laughter.

Comedy by Philippe Guillard, with Gérard Lanvin, Artus, Lou Chauvain.
