You have been through so much in your life. “I’ll eat it.” “No!” “Being homeless so young. “Mom, I see a blue heart. “Fresh.” “And it’s the middle of the day. You wouldn’t believe it. “I just hope each of you will never forget where you came from.” [MUSIC PLAYING] “The birth of you guys was the best thing that could have happened to me.” “Alright, daddy. Out of the panel, five. “I can’t really say what a normal childhood would look like because I’ve never seen one. I used to worry about where I was going to live, who was going to take care of me. “It’s not about doing it. It’s about training to run to the hoop and shoot. That’s nice. “Your father and I grew up very similarly. We only knew how people shouldn’t be. What we didn’t have. “Me and your mom went to Job Corps to improve our lives. We were homeless. So, you know, they give you three hots and a cot. “He just came over one day and started talking to me. And I was like, who is this guy? You know, like. We were so excited just to be, like, adults together in our apartment, all the love and the sparks and everything. And then all of a sudden one day, like, I’m pregnant. And then we were kicked out of this apartment. Entering and leaving shelters, trying different places. Where can we get help? “” I have always worked hard. But the system is not in place for people to be successful. The system is set up for people to repeat. “We lived in the car and had nowhere to go.” “I slept sitting down. We had it in there like Tetris. “Dad!” “Get rid of us. “” I am buried! “” Get your brothers. “We never said, like, we’re homeless people sleeping in the car.” We called it camper van. “Splash your face. “” Every day we went to a new park. We saw a new place. We made it an adventure. “Film it. There’s a video.” I’m going to push you into the void. ” [MUSIC PLAYING] “Our goal is to be just those people for you guys that if we had had, maybe things would have been different.” “I wish a flower mate.” “None of you really noticed how bad it was. It was bad. You guys, we were just relaxing in the car, watching movies at night, and sleeping next to the parks. “It’s miserable to be hungry, you know, especially for a child. You know, when they ask you, “Hey, can I have some juice? Or “Can I have something to eat?” And I have nothing to give you. “We were getting ready in the bathroom at the rest area before school and work. It’s easy to dwell on these things. Hope you don’t remember the stress. Hope you don’t remember the fights. “Your positivity and your spirit are still there. And it’s contagious. And that helps us get through it all. After all these years of waiting on many lists, it’s finally your turn. “I’m the camera guy. I am going to film today. “I am your host. This is our room number. This is our apartment. This is my parents’ room. This is where my father plays his games. And that’s where they sleep. And this is mom’s yoga room. And this is where we hang all of our pictures that we have drawn. “It’s the mother in her natural habitat.” “Olé.” “His species is very well known in France. “In France? Stop.” [MUSIC – BRITNEY SPEARS, ‘OOPS!…I DID IT AGAIN’] ”(SINGING) Oh baby, baby. Oops, you think I’m in love. That I am sent from above. I’m not that innocent. ” [MUSIC PLAYING] “It’s Dave. And this is Gabe. And that’s me. And that’s Zeke. And it’s dad. And it’s mom. “Beautiful, mom. “It’s Zeke and Gabe on the bunk beds, playing video games.” And they have the Lego bucket right there. And here is Robin kicking my soccer ball. And then it’s just me on my computer. “Look at this. My little cook. My little cook.“ I’m going to be a professional chef. ”“ That would be nice. ”“ Right now, it’s a time unlike anything we’ve ever seen. ”“ You you’re not that big, you’re that big. “” People get sick and there are a lot of people scared. I mean, I’m not really scared of much. We stayed together in the car. It’s nothing. ” “And this is our first day of distance learning.” “You will remember how the school was canceled. You will remember the masks that everyone had to wear. “Give me another one.” You have to start over. Hold on. ”“ But more importantly, you’ll remember this is the year things for our little family in our little corner of the world started to improve. ”“ Are you okay? ”“ We always had it. difficulties, but I would always be happy if you had another day, another chance to make it different. “” Never forget that home is not a building. Home is where your family is. and the people you love. [MUSIC PLAYING]
