“Now we have to show both sides”

Fox News host Jesse Watters seemed disappointed to learn that former Vice President Mike Pence was also in possession of classified documents, mainly because it might force his network to be “fair and balanced.”

So far, the network has exploited recent news that classified documents have been found at President Joe Biden’s home in Delaware.

But in Tuesday’s Fox News episode “The Five,” Watters and other panelists like Greg Gutfeld and Jeanine Pirro apparently worried that Pence’s news would ruin their good time at the president’s expense:

WATTERS: I mean, Pence, seriously. We have this big thing going on with Joe…

GUTFELD: Yeah, and he just messed it up!

PIRRO: He did!

WATTERS: Come on, man!

GUTFELD: Now what are we going to do?

Watters appeared disappointed that Pence did not engage in criminal behavior by not trying to hide the evidence.

“I mean, he could have just destroyed it. We never would have known,” Watters cheekily suggested.

Gutfeld pointed out that Pence’s honesty created another problem for the network.

“And we have to be fair and balanced and show both sides,” he said.

Watters chimed in:I know. Now we have to show both sides! And you know Pence is so clean. Really clean. It has nothing to do with the real bad documents that Joe Biden was skimming.

Gutfeld then wondered if Pence brought the documents back just so people wouldn’t forget.

“Do you think he just wanted to be included?” he asked rhetorically.

“He’s like, ‘Hey, I’m also a presidential candidate. Investigate me! I’ve been watching secret stuff!’ replied Watters.

Twitter users were quick to point out Watters’ apparent hypocrisy.
