Northampton left the Sky Bet League One relegation zone with a 3-1 win over Gillingham at Sixfields.
Sam Hoskins, Danny Rose and Alan Sheehan were all on track as the Cobblers ended their four-game losing streak with a crucial win.
Cian Bolger and Hoskins were off target with the first headers for the home side before Sheehan produced a brilliant block to turn Kyle Dempsey down.
Northampton was in the lead on the half hour when Connor Ogilvie tripped Rose into the penalty area and Hoskins stepped in to crush the 12-yard house.
The home side went on to have a second four minutes later as Rose turned around after Benny Ashley-Seal’s shot was stopped, but Dempsey’s half-time free kick left the game hanging in the balance.
Northampton restored their two-goal lead just 90 seconds after the start of the second half as Ashley-Seal suffered a foul and Sheehan’s free kick slipped past everyone and fell into the bottom corner.
Hoskins hit the post and Rose almost had her second as Gillingham never looked like he was shooting anything from the game.
