The North Korean armed forces tested a new “on-board missile system,” which traveled some 800 kilometers (497 miles) before hitting a target off the country’s east coast, state media reported.
“The railroad missile system serves as an effective means of counterattack capable of dealing a severe and simultaneous blow to the threatening forces”, said Field Marshal Pak Jong Chon, who is also a member of the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea’s Politburo Presidium and oversaw Wednesday’s missile launch test, according to KCNA.
