| Today Headlines | Today Headlines

This Thursday, two cars caught fire again, at 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m., rue Degas and rue Daumier, in Brest, in the Pontanézen district, probably in retaliation for the arrest of nine people, including three minors in the aftermath of fireworks, the burning of a car and the kidnapping of a family.

The youngest aged 15

Two police officers were injured during these clashes, one in the leg by a firework mortar, the other in the head, a scooter having been thrown in his face.

The ninth individual arrested was on the sidelines of the first arrests, for threatening a policeman with death. The custody of the nine men has been extended until Friday. The youngest is 15 years old and in the group are three brothers.

The individuals, known to most of the police, and some already convicted, will probably be prosecuted for kidnapping, drug trafficking and degradation in assembly.

About fifty grams of resin

The police check was aimed at a known deal point in the neighborhood. A small amount of cannabis resin (according to our information about fifty grams) was found after the dog reacted particularly in a building hall.

The prefect of Finistère sent a message of “support for the police and the inhabitants who are the first victims of this trafficking, and strongly condemns the kidnappings against the family concerned, serious acts which show that some offenders are ready for anything to evade their responsibilities before the courts”.
