Nick Bosa has agreed to become the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history.
The San Francisco 49ers defensive end signed a five-year, $170 million deal, which averages $34 million a year.

That beats the highest average annual salary of $31.7 million that Aaron Donald had received.
Bosa can also claim the highest signing bonus ($50 million) and highest guaranteed money ($122.5 million) of any defensive player.
His teammate, 49ers center Jake Brendel, reacted exclusively to talkSPORT about the 25-year-old’s new deal.
He said: “It’s huge. Being able to have the best defensive player on your team is huge. We are really happy about it.
“We are all excited for him, really happy for him. Honestly, that’s a ton of money and every time someone gets paid that much, it just resets the market.
“It’s great for him, but it’s also great for all the players who come after him.”
Bosa has been one of the best defensive players in the NFL since being selected second overall by the 49ers in 2019.
He was named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2019 and in 2022 he was named Defensive Player of the Year.

Bosa held out in training camp for the 49ers while waiting for overtime and completed the deal just days after their first game.
