N’Golo Kanté is the nicest man in football, but Olivier Giroud has revealed that the Ballon d’Or nominee was “angry and upset” when he lost at Scrabble.
It’s impossible not to like the Chelsea and France midfielder. Besides being brilliant on the pitch, he always seems to have a smile on his face.

Kanté is not only a brilliant guy, but he has won almost everything in football
His former teammate and compatriot of the Blues Giroud gave a glimpse of what Kante really looks like.
The pair play board games together, and it looks like the 30-year-old is as fiercely competitive off the field as he is on it.
“We played chess – I have to say he’s better than me,” Giroud told talkSPORT Breakfast: “I won some with him.
“I asked him to play Scrabble and I’m definitely better than him, so much better.
“He’s a funny person, a top man and he hates to lose. Sometimes he tries everything to win and it’s funny with him.

Giroud and Kanté are good friends of their time for the club and the country
“That’s why we created this song with the national team that he’s always trying to always find a way to avoid defeat.
“He never gives up. On the pitch he is trying to gain strength and is extremely important to Chelsea and the national team.
“Off the pitch he hates losing and sometimes makes him a little upset and angry.
“I always try to joke with him, he’s a great man.”
Kante was rightly on the Ballon d’Or shortlist and has a chance to win the top prize alongside Robert Lewandowski, Lionel Messi and his Chelsea teammate Jorginho.

Giroud has won three major trophies at Stamford Bridge, including club football’s biggest prize of last time
Giroud admitted he was proud of his teammate for making the list.
The forward added: “He had a great season last year. He played a big part in the success of the Champions League, but I think he at least deserves to be part of it.
“To win it, there are big players next to him. I am very happy and proud of him that he is close to it.
After leaving Chelsea in January, Giroud joined AC Milan where he plays alongside another brilliant player, Zlatan Ibrahimovich.
The striker is a great personality and still plays at the highest level despite his 40 years.

Zlatan is now Giroud’s teammate in Italy
Regarding his new teammate, Giroud added: “Zlatan is a strong personality. He is a player of a different class.
“It takes up a huge space in the locker room. He’s an important player and he always jokes with the boys in the locker room.
“I didn’t know him, but I spoke with him a bit, he’s a top man and a leader in the locker room.
“I can’t wait to play with him on the pitch together.”
