NFL: The Saints were hot

The New Orleans Saints won a second close game to remain perfect this season, defeating the Carolina Panthers 20-17 Monday night at Bank of America Stadium.

Derek Carr did not have a great game at quarterback, with 21 successful passes out of 36 attempts and 228 yards. He didn’t throw for a touchdown and had an interception, but he was able to make the big plays at the right time.

The most spectacular moment of the evening came from Chris Olave at the end of the second quarter, and it led to a touchdown. Due to the tight coverage of his rival, the receiver had no choice but to try to catch the ball thrown 42 yards with one hand. He juggled the object briefly before catching it securely with a dive. A few plays later, Tony Jones Jr. completed the sequence with the first of his two rushing touchdowns.

Credit must be given to the defenses on each side, who had four sacks each. Panthers quarterback Bryce Young was also very discreet, and his only throw for a major arrived late, while his team was trailing 20 to 9.

Last week, the Saints defeated the Tennessee Titans 16-15.
