Neymar says he’s not sure about playing for Brazil again

Brazilian Neymar said on Friday he was unsure whether to play for the national team again after their heartbreaking World Cup quarter-final loss to Croatia on penalties.

” Honestly, I do not know. I think talking now is wrong because of the heat of the moment. Maybe I’m not thinking correctly,” Neymar told reporters.

“To say it’s the end would be to rush me, but I don’t guarantee anything either. Let’s see what happens in the future.

“I want to take this time to think about it, to think about what I want for myself. I won’t close the door to play for Brazil, nor am I saying 100% that I’ll be back.

Neymar’s teammate Dani Alves has said he will retire from international duty but intends to continue playing at club level.

Against Croatia, Neymar gave the South Americans the lead with a brilliant labyrinthine run in the first half of extra time.

But their rivals equalized with three minutes remaining and then won a 4-2 penalty shootout to advance to the semi-finals where they will face Argentina.
