New York police witnessed a robbery around 2:45 a.m. Friday and attempted to intervene when the suspects opened fire on officers.
NYPD officers from the 13th Precinct responded to the scene of a robbery in progress. Officers returned fire after the unidentified suspects on the run began shooting at plainclothes officers, the department said.
The theft took place near the Doux Supper Club, a 21 and 6 bar in New York City. The suspects fled the scene of the shooting in a silver Audi.
