Police “felt there was potential for violence involving some of the local street crews,” Maddrey said.
Detectives saw a group of men arrive at the house, pulled out at least three guns, and began shooting at the party.
Maddrey said detectives exchanged gunfire with the group of men. Four were shot and taken to hospital, where they were in stable condition Saturday morning, police told CNN.
Police say at least three firearms were recovered. None of the police officers were shot.
“There were a lot of people here when it happened,” Maddrey said. “They were basically shooting into a crowd.”

Police have yet to name the injured men or specify what charges they may face.
Police said no one else was injured in the shooting.
