New White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre’s first official day was marked by mockery as conservatives on Twitter slammed her for not answering a question about inflation.
On Monday, Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy asked Jean-Pierre about a recent tweet from President Biden that the way to deal with the current rate of inflation would be to ensure that “businesses richest pay their fair share”.
“How does raising corporate taxes reduce the cost of gas, the cost of a used car, the cost of food, for ordinary Americans?” asked Doocy, to which Jean-Pierre responded with a rambling and incoherent statement made up of vague Democratic talking points on taxing the rich and climate change.
“So listen, I think we’re encouraging those who have been very successful, especially those who care about climate change, to support a fairer tax code that doesn’t change – doesn’t charge manufacturers, workers, cops , builders, a higher percentage of their earnings.”

“It actually looks like she might just be reading the wrong answer from her talking points written here – whatever Peter asked,” Whitlock added. “Talking points are fine – but you should at least try to answer a question.”
Liberty Daily editor JD Rucker wrote: “It’s only Karine Jean-Pierre’s first day, so we’ll give her the benefit of the doubt. It’s easy to dodge questions. She will eventually master her predecessor’s art of blaming Republicans, Trump, Putin, or Peter Doocy for all the evil in the world.”
