MEXICO CITY — Tropical Storm Bonnie formed Friday over the Caribbean as it headed for a rapid march across Central America and potential development into a hurricane after re-emerging in the Pacific.
The US National Hurricane Center said Bonnie is on track for the general border region between Nicaragua and Costa Rica. It was expected to cause major flooding, with rains of up to 8 inches (about 200 millimeters), and even more in isolated places.
