New Jersey boy continues to surf his lens during visit to Nashville | News

NASHVILLE (WSMV) — To keep busy during the pandemic, an 11-year-old boy from New Jersey has set a goal to surf for 1,000 days.

Carter Doorley will haul his surfboard through snow and ice on the Jersey Shore just to make sure he maintains his aim.

On his first trip to Nashville, Doorley was granted special access to SoundWaves at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel to ensure he could pursue his goal.

“Carter’s family contacted us, told us about their family plans and his case,” said Donny Wensinger, general manager of SoundWaves. “It really touched our hearts, so I’m here today. The water park is closed just for Carter today.”

Carter believes you are never too young to set a goal and pursue it.

“I say do your best and never give up,” he said.

Carter has now surfed 634 straight days and plans to continue.
