4:15 a.m.: “The situation in Mariupol is simply inhumane,” says Volodymyr Zelensky
In a video message, Volodymyr Zelensky paints a terrible portrait of the city of Mariupol, which Russia claims to control almost entirely. “The situation in Mariupol remains as bad as it can be. Simply inhumane. That’s what the Russian Federation did. Did it deliberately. (…) Russia is deliberately trying to destroy anyone is in Mariupol”, declares the Ukrainian president, who calls again on his partners to provide his country with “heavy weapons”.
The Russian army is launching a new appeal to the last Ukrainian defenders of Mariupol to lay down their arms.
