Early next month, a day before the Women’s March, an outspoken pro-life Democrat will launch a new organization dedicated to uniting feminists and progressives against abortion and lobbying the Democratic Party to he opposes the killing of unborn babies.
Terrisa Bukovinac, a self-identified liberal democratic atheist who founded Pro-Life San Francisco and was temporarily president of Democrats for Life of America, is set to announce the name of her new organization at a launch event in Washington, DC, on October 1, with 20 young progressive activists. Bukovinac told Fox News: “The Democratic establishment is completely out of touch with its constituents on the issue of abortion.
She said that although the DNC has been “radically pro-abortion,” most Democrats have always supported restrictions on the practice.
TEXAS RIGHT TO LIFE GETS DAM OF THREATS AND WORRYING MESSAGES AFTER ABORTION ACT IS PASSED
She cited a Marist poll concluding that only 27% of self-identified Democrats say they would allow a woman to have an abortion at any time during pregnancy, while 58% of them say abortion should be restricted. in the first three months of pregnancy, authorized only in cases of rape, incest or to save the life of the mother, or totally prohibited.
Bukovinac accused the Democratic Party and abortion providers of “silencing and stigmatizing” pro-life liberals and Democrats, in part by insisting that only Catholics or Christians oppose abortion, while the laity have always been part of the pro-life movement.
Her new organization “will create a space for people on the left who oppose abortion,” she told Fox News. “The unjust murder of the unborn child is a violation of our progressive values of equality, non-violence and non-discrimination.”
“The scientific position is that life begins at conception,” Bukovinac argued. Disagreeing with the Bible should not cause a person to “think it is okay to unjustly end the lives of 60 million unborn human beings.”
“To deny the humanity of the unborn child is a denial of science, it is literally anti-progressive,” she said, claiming that denying the rights of unborn babies was an “empowering form of discrimination.” “. “The expansion of rights to those who are marginalized is the raison d’être of progress.”

Bukovinac said abortion cut across many key progressive issues, such as combating racism. She also said abortion providers “exploited” black women, who were disproportionately more likely to have abortions.
She also noted that Lothrop Stoddard, who helped Margaret Sanger found the organization now known as Planned Parenthood, was a white supremacist. Stoddard, a member of the Ku Klux Klan, is said to have influenced Nazi Germany’s racial approach.
“On the left, we recognize that racism exists in all parts of our society. Not only does it exist at Planned Parenthood, but that’s why this industry exists,” Bukovinac said. “We cannot dismantle white supremacy without dismantling Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry.”
Planned Parenthood has faced judgment on Sanger’s views. “We must take full responsibility for the harm that Sanger has caused to generations of people with disabilities and to Black, Latin American, Asian American and Native people,” wrote the organization’s President and CEO Alexis McGill Johnson, in a New York Times article. earlier this year. “Margaret Sanger has harmed generations with her beliefs.”
Planned Parenthood also removed Sanger’s name from its New York City clinic last year.
Speaking about his new organization, Bukovinac said: “We are ready to put our body between the oppressor and the oppressed and this will be the nail in the coffin of the abortion industry.”
She also touted her new organization as an important government outreach for the pro-life movement with Democrats controlling Congress and the White House.
BIDEN DOJ SWORDS TO DEFEND ACCESS TO ABORTION IN THE WAKE OF TEXAS HEART BEAT ACT
She had pretty harsh words for the president.
“I think President Biden is a traitor to our party. He is a human rights traitor. He is absolutely untrustworthy on this issue,” she said, noting that Biden rescinded its decades-long support for the Hyde Amendment in 2019. The Hyde Amendment prohibits the use of federal funding to pay for most abortions.

Despite this, Bucovinac expressed optimism that “victory is quite possible”. She admitted that she hoped the Supreme Court would overturn Roe v. Wade, a step she described as “just the beginning”.
The Democratic National Committee did not respond to Fox News’ request for comment.
