Nervous about flying? Delta Airlines is giving travelers an extra year to use eCredits | KTAB

LAS VEGAS (KLAS)– Delta Airlines is giving travelers more time to rebook those trips and extending the duration of their travel credits for an additional year to redeem eCredits, the airline said.

Starting Jan. 12, 2022, customers with eCredits in their accounts will have an additional year of flexibility to book flights, according to Delta.

“We want to make sure our customers have peace of mind when booking or changing their Delta trips this year,” said Allison Ausband, director of customer experience.

Travelers will be able to rebook with electronic credits through 2023 for travel anytime through 2024, Delta said.

“This industry-leading extension gives customers more time to use their travel credits, so they can book with confidence that Delta is protecting them even when times are beyond their control,” Ausband added.

The Atlanta-based carrier has also extended voucher periods for Delta Vacation customers.

Delta said it would take time to update passenger expiration dates in its computer system, but customers looking to book travel with credits shouldn’t be affected.

The move comes following major travel disruptions over the festive period, which have impacted airports and airlines.
