“White refugees have been displaced and have a story to convey to as well,” it read through. “Confederate soldiers who will be heading dwelling specific their emotions about the downfall of the Confederacy.”

After the event was posted on the plantation’s Fb site, quite a few testimonials criticized the plantation, contacting the Juneteenth celebration “absolutely disgusting” and “unbelievable.”

This is not the very first time the Charlotte-space plantation has come underneath fireplace. In 2009, a Black tour manual picked 3 Black college students out of a largely white team from Union County Faculties to support re-enact the life of slaves. Latta Plantation officers claimed there was no destructive intent.
