Even Tottenham’s top star Harry Kane hasn’t scored more Premier League goals than the ‘Egyptian King’, with Salah having netted 139 times in the top flight since joining Liverpool in 2017.

No other player has scored more than this in the Premier League during this period, so the Reds would undoubtedly miss his firepower.

The 31-year-old helped Jurgen Klopp’s side win the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup during his time at Anfield.

But it was in the English top flight that Salah truly wrote his Liverpool legend.

From the frustration of former Man City manager Pep Guardiola to the humiliation of Reds rivals Manchester United, the winger has created many magical moments that will forever be remembered by football fans. So, with a Liverpool exit still possible, what have been Salah’s highlights in the Premier League?

A riot against Man United

Salah has helped his side boast several times over rivals Man United, but it’s his performance in October 2021 that will stand out for Reds fans.

The winger scored a hat-trick in just 50 minutes to add to first-half goals from Keita and Diogo Jota as Klopp’s side sealed a 5-0 win at Old Trafford.

He also got the assist for Keita’s goal.

Salah scored for the 10th appearance in a row, inflicting a defeat of five or more goals without scoring at home for the first time in almost 70 years at Man United, leaving manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer furious.

A record double

It’s no surprise that another stunning performance against Man United is among Salah’s Premier League highlights. But this time a record breaking moment came on a banner day for the Reds in March this year.

Salah surpassed Robbie Fowler’s all-time Premier League goalscoring record for Liverpool when he found the net in the 83rd minute of Liverpool’s biggest victory against Man United – a 7-0 win at Anfield.

The historic win marks Salah’s 128th and 129th Premier League goals for the club.

“It’s very special, I can’t lie,” the winger said at the time. “That record was on my mind ever since I arrived here. I think after my first season I’ve always been chasing that record. Breaking it today against United with that result is unbelievable.”

Give Guardiola nightmares

Liverpool and Man City were title rivals before last season, with the two clubs facing off in the 2021/22 season, only for Pep Guardiola’s side to lift the Premier League trophy on the final day.

But when the two sides met the following season, Salah left the Man City boss seriously frustrated.

Salah got a glorious, accurate cross straight from goalkeeper Alisson Becker before turning Joao Cancelo and firing in what turned out to be Liverpool’s winner.

Even before Salah had finished the job, cameras showed Guardiola throwing his arms in the air, knowing exactly what was about to happen.

It’s a moment Liverpool and Premier League fans won’t soon forget.
