The league giants have vowed to conduct full and fair investigations into the allegations against the midfielder
Tanzania Continental Premier League giants Simba SC have suspended reliable midfielder Jonas Mkude for disciplinary reasons.
Wekundu wa Msimbazi did not specifically highlight the allegations against the Tanzania international, but promised to deliver a fair decision on the matter soon.
Mkude’s suspension comes a day after Simba played against Maji Maji FC in the Azam Sports Federation Cup on Sunday and won the game 5-0 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
The defensive midfielder was not part of the day’s squad amid a wave of changes by coach Sven Vandenbroeck.
“We regret to inform our members and fans, it has always been the best for us at Simba Sports Club that Jonas Mkude has been temporarily suspended,” Simba said in a statement obtained by Goal. “Mkude has been forced to step down for a number of reasons which include a number of disciplinary issues he has been involved in.
“Simba SC was forced to make this decision because as a club we do not tolerate issues of indiscipline in any way. We believe that discipline is the cornerstone of all development in the world of football.
“According to the constitution and regulations of Simba SC, the allegations against Mkude have been forwarded to the club’s disciplinary committee in order to allow both parties to be heard before a judgment is rendered.
“The purpose of Mkude’s suspension is primarily to provide an investigative room, and also to provide ample time for investigators addressing the issue of player indiscipline.
“We would like to ask for patience, especially since we have a big game on January 6th. [against Platinum FC] for we also promise that righteousness will prevail in the end.
Mkude has been an undisputed first mate in all competitions Simba has entered in recent times, and the midfielder has served the national team as well. the Taifa Stars, in the same way. It remains to be seen whether the allegations – when they emerge – will have an impact on his career.
His services became even more important when Brazilian star Gerson Fraga suffered a long-term injury. Wekundu wa Msimbazi continued to sign Uganda midfielder Taddeo Lwanga to cover the void left by Fraga and as a result, he could end up playing Mkude’s position in the future.
Ndemla and Mzamiru Yassin recently enjoyed more playing time under Vandenbroeck and the level of their performance could offer some relief if Mkude fails to be cleared in time.
