Missing child found dead in Hamilton Township

A child was found dead after going missing from an Ontario town on Thursday evening.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call about a missing child from an address in Hamilton Township, north of Cobourg, just before 5:20 p.m. Thursday.

An Ontario Provincial Police cruiser and police tape were seen outside the Watch Me Grow daycare center on County Road 45 in Baltimore, Ont., on Friday.
The child was found dead at the address where he was reported missing, according to the Ontario Provincial Police. The cause of the child’s death is currently unknown.
Emergency crews were seen searching a wooded area off a busy country road just minutes north of Highway 401 in footage taken Thursday and obtained by CTV News Toronto.

A death investigation is currently underway at the address where the child was found.
The Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police Crime Unit and Central Region Forensic Identification Services (FIS) are continuing the investigation, under the direction of the Ontario Provincial Police Criminal Investigations Branch. Ontario and in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario.
