The winner of the 2021 Miss USA pageant has been officially crowned.
Miss Kentucky Elle Smith won the title in the competition on November 29 at the River Spirit Casino Resort in Tulsa, Okla. Miss North Dakota Caitlyn vogel was named a finalist, followed by Miss Florida Ashley Carino and Miss Illinois Sydni bennett.
After receiving this honor, Smith received the Mouawad Miss USA Power of Positivity Crown. According to the jeweler, the crown is made in 18k gold and set with white diamonds, with patterns of petals, leaves and vines. It also includes rubies, blue tanzanite gemstones, and blue sapphires. Jewel tones and star patterns throughout the design, the company notes, nod to the flag of the United States.
Smith, who is a reporter for WHAS11 News in Louisville, succeeds Miss USA 2020 Asia branch. In December, Smith will participate in the Miss Universe pageant in Israel. Andrea Meza currently holds the title of Miss Universe.
