Mila Kunis explains how she and Ashton Kutcher dealt with her health scare: ‘Just being able to pass’

Mila Kunis recently opened up about how she handled husband Ashton Kutcher’s battle with a rare disease, which he discussed on a recent episode of “Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge.”

Kutcher revealed on the popular nature show that he experienced a two-year battle with a rare form of vasculitis. In his case, the autoimmune disease affected his balance, leaving him temporarily unable to see or hear.

During a recent interview, Kunis explained how she chose to deal with her diagnosis, choosing not to dwell on the negatives, but to continue living and making the best of their situation.

“I don’t think you have time to sit down and talk, you’re kind of getting by,” Kunis told Entertainment Tonight. “You’re going to take care of any health issue that comes your way, but you still have kids, you still have a family, you have to live your life and talk about things all the time, no. You have to do it.

Kunis also gave a more concrete timeline as to when Kutcher started experiencing the symptoms and was diagnosed, noting that it happened three years ago in 2019. During the episode with Grylls, Kutcher said revealed that it took him “a year to rebuild everything”. referring to his sight and hearing.

“You don’t really appreciate it until it’s gone,” he said on the show. “Until you go, ‘I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to see again. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to hear again. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to walk again.'”

The pair met while filming “That ’70s Show” in 1998. They acted as a couple for the majority of the show but didn’t meet in real life until several years later in 2012. They have since got married and had two children. together, daughter Wyatt and son Dimitri.

They haven’t worked together since “That ’70s Show” ended in 2006, that is, until now. They had their reunion on camera while working on the reboot of the show that made them famous, called “That ’90s Show.” The pair are ready to make special appearances.


“It’s very good,” Kunis said. “It’s awesome actually, and I think anyone who’s ever watched the 70s, that was a fan, I think will be very, very, very, very, happy about the inciting incident of the whole show.”

Kunis’ only complaint about the reboot was that the actress chosen to play his child is too old to presumably be his daughter. She joked that “(she) was a child bride” and that she “wanted everyone to know” that it wasn’t possible.

The reboot is expected to premiere on Netflix in late 2022 or early 2023.
