Mikel Arteta urges Arsenal not to fly away after unbeaten run that ended with force in Liverpool beating

Prior to the loss, Arsenal were on a 10-game unbeaten streak and reportedly overtook Liverpool in the Premier League table with another victory.

When asked how important it is for the Gunners to bounce back and not let loss escalate into bad form, Arteta said: “That’s what great teams and great teams do. This is what we have to do.

“Monday we start again, review the game, the things we should have done better and understand the reason why we lost and correct. That’s it. Then focus completely on Newcastle [on Saturday].

“I’ve seen the greatest teams in the world come here, on this pitch, and fall apart. So it can be.

“At times I think we were a little pushy when things weren’t working out. We lost a few balls in the near end and had to shuffle our game better, but we didn’t and that’s it.

“They were better than us for 96 minutes and that’s the level. That’s why they’ve been where they’ve been. They’ve been together for six years and today you can see the difference as we lost control of the game. ”

Arsenal did well in the first half and, until Liverpool opened the scoring in the 39th minute, they looked solid.

Jurgen Klopp’s side however started from there and dominated Arsenal from the start of the second half.

“I think we will restart the game in 15 minutes, doing exactly what we don’t have to do against the best team in the league by doing this,” Arteta added.
