Mikel Arteta confronts Jurgen Klopp and tells him to ‘f *** off’ as bosses see red on the sideline in Liverpool vs Arsenal clash

Jurgen Klopp and Mikel Arteta had to be separated in a fierce sideline break in which the Arsenal boss told his counterpart to “f *** off” in the 4-0 loss.

The clash came just after half an hour into the game with the scoreless game and Liverpool starting to build up the pressure.

The pair went on to receive yellow cards for their outbursts

Reds winger Sadio Mane had slammed shoulders with Arsenal right-back Takehiro Tomiyasu throughout the opening stages, and went a bit too far with a free kick near the touchline.

Neither player went as far as their managers, Arteta waving his arms angrily, before Klopp rushed to face him on the Anfield sideline.

Fourth official Andy Madley had to get in between before it turned into a head-on collision, with the squad then stepping in as the showdown continued from a distance, Arteta clearly cursing the Liverpool boss.

TalkSPORT commentator Micky Gray explained the incident, saying, “It started with a foul by Sadio Mane and I think Arteta didn’t think it was going to be given.

The pair then naturally calmed down as Liverpool grabbed the win

“It does, and Arteta was waving his arms.

“Jurgen Klopp came out of his technical area directly to Arteta.

The managers then both received yellow cards from referee Michael Oliver for their outbursts, which Gray blamed on the intensity of the game.

“Very, very fiery,” he said. “We’re talking about Arteta and waving his arms to try and help his defenders whenever he gets the chance and Juirgen Klopp does pretty much the same.

“But it was a rapprochement. It shows you how much this game means.
