Saka was one of the best players for the Three Lions in Qatar, scoring three goals in five games, but couldn’t prevent Saturday night’s painful exit against France in the quarter-finals.
Olivier Giroud, another former Gunner, scored the winner to confirm England’s exit but Ozil says the team shouldn’t be disappointed with their performance against the world champions and expect other big things from the youngster Saka.
“You don’t need to be ashamed of the England team,” the former Arsenal player tweeted. “A solid performance against the current world champion, a good defense against Mbappe & Cie, but France very effective as always.
“Great game from my brother [Saka] – the future is yours.”
Saka is next set to be in action for Arsenal on Boxing Day when West Ham visit in a London derby.
