Meghan Markle ‘screamed’ at staff, left them ‘broken’ and ‘shaking’ with fear, new book claims

New accounts of Meghan Markle’s alleged bullying behavior have been published in a bombshell excerpt from a new book by The Times of London’ royal correspondent Valentine Low, the respected reporter who first reported formal complaints had been made against Meghan by senior executives at Buckingham Palace that she was bullying employees.

In the new excerpt from Low’s book, titled Courtiers: the power hidden behind the crown which is to be released early next month in the UK, Low alleges that Meghan has repeatedly left staff in tears and shaking with fear after subduing them or in anticipation of angry tirades.

Meghan previously claimed the accusations were part of a “calculated smear campaign”.

Low also alleges that after a series of public engagements in Australia, Meghan was overheard by several people saying, “I can’t believe I don’t get paid for this.”

Low writes that in 2017, six months before the couple were even engaged, she told an adviser to Harry, “I think we both know I’m going to be one of your bosses soon.”

Low alleges Meghan saw it as an “insult” to have to deal with junior staff and when gently advised in late 2017 to take it easy on her and Harry’s staff, reportedly replied: “It’s not It’s not my job to pamper people.”

Low also alleges that Meghan threatened Harry to break off his relationship with him if he did not publicly announce that she was his girlfriend.

Low quotes a source as saying, “She said, ‘If you don’t release a statement confirming I’m your girlfriend, I’m going to break up with you. “”

Another source told Low: “He was freaking out saying, ‘She’s gonna dump me’.”

However, it is the bullying allegations that are likely to be most damaging to Meghan and Harry.

After speaking to one person “particularly harshly” in front of other staff, Meghan reportedly told the person: “Don’t worry. If there was literally someone else I could ask to do this, I would ask them for you.

Low says Prince William, learning of the incident, consoled the woman, assuring her she was doing a “very good job”, bringing her to tears.

A staff member who missed a call from Meghan reportedly said: ‘She didn’t call back. I feel terrified… This is so ridiculous. I can’t help shaking.

Low details a claim by a staff member that Meghan and Harry repeatedly scolded them over the phone on a Friday night when the staff member was out for dinner.

The unnamed member of staff reportedly said: ‘Every ten minutes I had to go outside to get yelled at by her and Harry. It was, ‘I can’t believe you did this. You let me down. But what did you have in mind?’ It lasted a few hours. »

The staff member alleged that the calls continued “for days”, adding: “You couldn’t escape them. There were no lines or borders – it was last thing in the evening, first thing in the morning.

Another source tells Low, “There were a lot of broken people. The young women were broken by their behavior.

Meghan has previously denied the bullying allegations. They were released just before Meghan’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey aired.

“Let’s just call it what it is – a calculated smear campaign based on misleading and harmful information,” read a statement from the Sussex spokesperson released in March 2021. “We are disappointed to see this defamatory portrayal Duchess of Sussex given credibility by media outlet It is no coincidence that distorted, years-old accusations aimed at undermining the Duchess are leaked to British media shortly before she and the Duke are due to speak openly and honestly about their experience over the past few years.

Low said he had received the material from sources who “believed that only a partial version had emerged from Meghan’s two years as an active member of the Royal Family” and who wanted “the public to get a glimpse of her side of the story before watching the couple’s high-profile interview with Winfrey.

Meghan’s lawyer, Jenny Afia, previously said in a documentary: ‘What bullying really means is the repeated and deliberate inappropriate use of power to hurt someone physically or emotionally. The Duchess of Sussex absolutely denies doing this. Knowing her like I know her, I can’t believe she would ever do that. It just doesn’t match my experience with her at all.
