The era of the “very different” monarchy according to an expert
When the end of the Second Elizabethan Age comes to an end and the Carolinian Era dawns, the monarchy could be very different.
A royal expert said Prince Charles would usher in a ‘very different’ era of monarchy, but would struggle to match the phenomenal reign of the Queen.
Professor Anna Whitelock said: “Just because the Queen is celebrating her seventieth year next year, because of her longevity, her life, what she’s been through, what she saw, she is unmatched.
“Charles, given his age, he can never get past that, and what the Queen has seen and experienced.”
She added: “I think we’re in a very different, and we’re going to be, in a very different time with a very different type of monarch and a very different type of monarchy going forward.”
