Waters told Jonathan Capehart, host of MSNBC’s “The Sunday Show,” that she viewed Jordan as seeking to intimidate Fauci, adding, “Congressman Jordan tried to silence him.”
“We only have five minutes each. And he doesn’t respect the chair. He does not respect other members. He speaks over time, ”Waters said, accusing Jordan of trying to undermine the Fauci and the Democrats.
Waters called his style “different from that of many politicians.” In the past, she has been criticized by Republicans for her rhetoric, which they considered excessive.
“I take, you know, the opportunity to say what I think needs to be said at some point,” she said. “And that’s what I did.”
Jordan had accused Fauci of working to deprive Americans of their freedoms. For his part, Fauci said on Sunday that he didn’t particularly like Jordan’s tone.
“I don’t like that kind of confrontation,” Fauci said on CNN’s “State of the Union”.
