Manchester United fans are set to unveil a banner thanking former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – and it’s safe to say talkSPORT host Simon Jordan isn’t impressed.
The Red Devils face Arsenal in their first home game since the Norwegian was relieved of his duties after a string of poor results.
The final nail in his coffin was a 4-1 loss to Watford and after his dismissal the 48-year-old gave a candid interview to say goodbye.
It has been reported that a banner reading ’20 LEGEND’ will be displayed on Thursday evening as United loyalists plan to show their gratitude.
When Jordan found out about the plans, however, he was not at all happy and launched into a scathing rant.
“Sickening, saccharin tosh!” said the former president of Crystal Palace.
“It’s sentimentality about the facts, you have just walked on water for three years, three years of your life, you will not recover.
“Three years wasted as your rivals disappeared further and further on the horizon.
“He had his awards, he did his interview where we all rang our handkerchiefs and we were all so happy that he made so many friends and reconnected.
“He’s going somewhere with a big bag of money that you helped pay for.”
“Manchester United are a winning football club, the motivation behind Manchester United’s desire to win.
“You just had three years of your life taken away by someone who was ultimately not suited to your goal.
“While I’m sure he’s a lovely person and has the best of intentions, running and celebrating mediocrity surely shouldn’t be what Man United fans are all about.”
