Manchester United confirm injured Tom Heaton will miss ‘several games in the future’

Heaton is the second-choice shot-stopper at Old Trafford, replacing David de Gea twice and keeping a clean sheet each time.
The 36-year-old suffered an ankle injury ahead of the 3-1 win over Fulham in the FA Cup, with January signing Jack Butland taking his place on the bench, and now United have confirmed that Heaton “will not be available for many of United’s next games.”
Heaton told the club’s official website: “Yeah, unfortunately the day before the game against Fulham I rolled my ankle in training.
“Luckily it’s not that bad, but it will mean a few weeks I think. I should be back somewhere in April, hopefully halfway through.
“It’s a professional hazard unfortunately, a bit random but, yeah, I just went over the ankle and nicked the ligament.
“I’m in [protective boot] for a few more days and then I hope to get it back up and running.
