Manchester City striker Erling Haaland scores twice on his return to hometown Leeds in a 3-1 win as he becomes the fastest player to score 20 Premier League goals in his 14th game only to close the gap with leaders Arsenal to five points.
Erling Haaland became the fastest player to score 20 Premier League goals after netting twice on his return to Leeds in Manchester City’s 3-1 win.
The 22-year-old has incredibly achieved the feat in just 14 games – seven games less than former record holder Kevin Phillips.
Haaland hasn’t been sensational since swapping Borussia Dortmund for the Etihad in the summer.
In total, he has now found the back of the net 26 times in all competitions, including 20 in the top flight.
The Norway international has scored in 11 of his 14 Premier League games and was once again the star of the show on his return to Yorkshire.
The victory means City have reduced the gap on league leaders Arsenal to five points.
Haaland, who was born in Leeds when his father Alf-Inge played for Los Blancos, took until the 51st minute to get on the scoresheet.
After Rodri broke the deadlock for the visitors just before the break, Haaland doubled the Citizens’ lead after tapping home into an empty net after Jack Grealish squared the ball to him.

Another incredible stat is that Haaland is the fastest player to score 25 goals under Pep Guardiola – breaking Lionel Messi’s record [28 games] by eight matches.
