Hello Manchester United Fans,
Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to the pitch for the first time since parting ways with Manchester United following the end of his tumultuous year-and-a-half return to Old Trafford.
The 37-year-old only agreed to mutually terminate his contract on Tuesday but showed few signs that it would affect him on the pitch.
He won a penalty and then scored from the spot as Portugal beat Ghana 3-2 in a frenetic World Cup match.
His strike made the former United star the first person to score in five consecutive World Cups, another stunning achievement for Ronaldo to add to his long list.
At the end of the match, Man United goalkeeper Diogo Costa nearly let out a huge noise, leaving Ronaldo stunned on the sidelines after being substituted.
Meanwhile, the Glazers have finally broken their silence on why they are considering selling the club.
Avram Glazer told Sky: “The board went through a process and decided to explore different strategic options for Manchester United.”
He added of Ronaldo: “
Well, I’ll tell you about Cristiano Ronaldo – he’s a great Manchester United player, I appreciate everything he’s done for the club.
“I wish Ronaldo the best of luck for the future.”
