Man shot dead in Australia; Police are trying to persuade the alleged shooter to surrender

Police said they were trying to persuade a suspected gunman to turn himself in after a man was shot dead in a town in Western Australia’s wheatbelt state on Thursday.

The 25-year-old allegedly shot a man in a grain silo in Kellerberrin around 8.40am on Thursday before fleeing the area, Western Australia Police said in a statement.

Police issued an active shooter alert soon after, warning members of the public to stay indoors as officers search for the suspected shooter.
