An unidentified customer at a British Columbia Dairy Queen urinated on the restaurant floor in front of employees after they asked him to wear a face mask.
The incident happened around 9 p.m. Friday night at the site of the fast food chain in Port Alberni.
Video from another client shows the man using foul language to chat and insult an employee as he insists the province’s mask policy allows exemptions for people like him.
The man does not explain why he would have an exemption from the policy. Instead, he begins to pee in the open, reeling from the employees and other customers who are queuing up.
” He does it ! one person can be heard screaming in the footage, while another note: “He’s peeing on the fucking counter!”
The disgruntled customer then exits, making sure to scream “fucking psychopath” as he exits.
Graham Hughes, who posted images of the incident on his Facebook page, told HuffPost the man peed on the floor. His friend filmed it but did not want to publish it on his own page for professional reasons.
“It’s one of those moments that you usually only see in America,” noted the Canadian. “You never see him at home in Port Alberni. “
Hughes said another friend who worked at Dairy Queen told him the offending customer also tried unsuccessfully to go through the drive-thru. He then reportedly returned to the restaurant a night later and threatened to kill everyone.
So far, no one has been arrested. Anyone with additional customer videos is encouraged to share them with the authorities.
Meanwhile, Staff Sgt. Chris Manseau of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police is hoping this won’t start a trend.
“This is the first incident of this nature,” Manseau told CTV News, adding, “I think people should just wear their masks, be safe and be polite.”
