The annual curtain-raiser of the Premier League season will be played at the King Power Stadium in Leicester this year, due to Wembley, the usual host stadium, preparing for Sunday’s Euro 2022 final.
It will be the first time that two of the Premier League’s biggest summer signings have played for their new clubs in England.
Erling Haaland is the name on everyone’s lips at the moment, with the 22-year-old signing from Borussia Dortmund for £54million last month.
The Norwegian has scored twice for Man City in two pre-season friendlies so will be looking to build on his good form for tomorrow’s Community Shield draw.
Pep Guardiola’s side are favorites for tomorrow’s game after beating Liverpool to the Premier League title last season in dramatic circumstances on the final day of the season.
City scored three goals in the final 15 minutes to snatch the Premier League title from Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool’s Brazilian midfielder Fabinho was booked in all three of the Reds’ games against Man City last season, twice in the league and once in the FA Cup semi-finals.
