Malibu earthquake: 4.2 magnitude earthquake hits Malibu beach, with aftershocks rocking Southern California

A magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck around 2 a.m. PT on Wednesday off the coast of California, about 10 miles south of Malibu Beach, the US Geological Survey said.
No tsunami threat was associated with the quake, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said.
The earthquake was felt in southern California, with aftershocks of magnitude 2.6 to 3.5 felt in the region, according to the geological survey.
No major damage was immediately reported, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The fire department “completed a 470 square mile strategic survey of the city of Los Angeles following the 4.2M earthquake near Malibu. No damage or injuries were reported and operational mode normal has resumed,” he added.
