Madison Keys is aiming to emulate her best Grand Slam result when she faces Aryna Sabalenka in the US Open semi-final tonight.

The American’s only career Grand Slam final also came at home after falling to compatriot Sloane Stephens in the 2017 tournament.

Keys, however, scored a decisive victory in front of a home crowd last time out by knocking out Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova in straight sets to reach the last four.

But the world number 17 faces an almighty task to defeat Sabalenka, who has so far not dropped a set at this year’s US Open.

The 25-year-old became the first player since Serena Williams in 2016 to reach the semi-finals of all four major tournaments in a year.

This US Open women’s singles semi-final is scheduled for Friday, September 8.

The action is set to kick off around 1.30am in the UK at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing Meadows in New York.

Keys vs. Sabalenka: What Was Said?

Speaking against Sabalenka again, Keys said: “There are obviously a lot of things I can take away from this match, the first being that she beat me.

“But I think she will always have similar patterns and tendencies that I can definitely build on.

“And also, in the second set at Wimbledon, I had a break lead and I had chances. I was definitely in the game and I had chances, so I think even though I lost that game, it wasn’t like I wasn’t in the game and I had no idea what I was doing there.

“So I think there are a lot of positives that I can take from this game and try to implement them tomorrow.”
