Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah reacts as Manchester United qualify for the Champions League

With Newcastle securing their place in the top four on Monday night, Jurgen Klopp’s side had to hope United would lose their two remaining games to catch them on the final day.
Liverpool finished the season well but struggled earlier in the campaign and even a late win was not enough to catch up.
A draw with Aston Villa on Saturday ended any lingering hopes that this would be possible.
Inconsistent form condemns the Anfield giants to the Europa League for the first time since Klopp led them to the final in 2015/16.
While the Reds boss stressed his side were ‘ok’ with his fate, Salah expressed his frustration on Twitter.
“I am totally devastated,” he wrote.
“There is absolutely no excuse for this. We had everything we needed to qualify for the Champions League next year and we failed.
“We are Liverpool and qualifying for the competition is the bare minimum. I’m sorry but it’s too early for an uplifting or optimistic message. We’ve let you and ourselves down.
